Description

These Korean BBQ Tacos combine the bold flavors of Korean cuisine with the fun, casual vibe of tacos. Tender beef marinated in a savory-sweet sauce of soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil is grilled to perfection and served in soft tortillas with fresh cilantro, green onions, and optional toppings like kimchi and sriracha for an extra kick. A fusion dish that’s sure to impress!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef (flank steak or short ribs work well)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
  • 8 small tortillas
  • Optional toppings: kimchi, sriracha, sesame seeds

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  • Add the beef to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor).
  • Heat a grill or pan over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the beef for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  • Remove the beef from heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  • Warm the tortillas on the grill or in a pan for about 1 minute.
  • Assemble the tacos by placing the sliced beef in the tortillas, then garnish with chopped green onions, cilantro, and any additional toppings like kimchi, sriracha, or sesame seeds.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can adjust the marinating time for a stronger flavor, but 30 minutes is enough to infuse the beef with the marinade.
  • For a smokier flavor, grill the beef on a charcoal grill.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, top the tacos with extra sriracha or add a dash of chili flakes to the marinade.
