Description

This Lazy Chicken Parmesan Grilled Cheese combines the comfort of a classic grilled cheese with the flavors of chicken parmesan, making it an easy, delicious twist on a traditional favorite. With crispy breaded chicken patties, savory marinara sauce, and melted cheese, it’s the perfect weeknight meal for when you’re craving something hearty and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 frozen breaded chicken patties (such as Tyson®)

  • 2 tablespoons garlic butter (or to taste)

  • 4 slices Italian bread

  • 1 cup marinara sauce

  • ½ teaspoon dried basil (or to taste)

  • 1 pinch garlic salt (or to taste)

  • 6 thin slices provolone cheese

  • 2 tablespoons shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Cook the Chicken Patties: Cook the frozen breaded chicken patties according to the package instructions (typically in the oven or air fryer).

  • Prepare the Bread: While the chicken cooks, spread garlic butter on one side of each slice of Italian bread.

  • Assemble the Sandwich: Once the chicken patties are cooked, layer one patty on two slices of bread. Top with marinara sauce, dried basil, and a pinch of garlic salt. Add 3 slices of provolone cheese and sprinkle with shredded Parmesan cheese.

  • Grill the Sandwiches: Place the sandwich halves (buttered side down) on a hot skillet or griddle. Grill until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 2-4 minutes per side.

  • Serve: Remove the grilled cheese from the skillet and slice in half. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a more intense garlic flavor, increase the garlic butter to taste or add extra garlic salt.

  • If desired, serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.

  • You can also use other cheeses like mozzarella or cheddar depending on your preference.
