- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semisweet or milk chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until well blended.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan, pressing it down gently with a spatula or your hands.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the cookie bars to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
