Description

These deliciously chewy cookie bars combine the rich flavors of chocolate and brown sugar for an easy, crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet or milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Whisk until well blended.
  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until fully combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  • Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan, pressing it down gently with a spatula or your hands.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  • Allow the cookie bars to cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 15 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
