Ingredients
-
8 ounces uncooked penne pasta
-
1 pound ground beef
-
6 bacon strips, diced
-
1 can (10.75 ounces) condensed tomato soup, undiluted
-
1/2 cup water
-
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
-
Optional: Barbecue sauce and prepared mustard, for drizzling or serving
Instructions
-
Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside.
-
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels. Discard excess bacon grease, leaving about 1 tablespoon in the skillet.
-
Add the ground beef to the same skillet and cook until no longer pink. Drain excess fat if needed.
-
Stir in the tomato soup and water. Bring to a simmer.
-
Add the cooked pasta, crispy bacon, and cheddar cheese. Stir until cheese is melted and everything is well combined.
- Serve hot, with optional drizzles of barbecue sauce and prepared mustard for a cheeseburger-inspired finish.
Notes
-
For a creamier texture, stir in 1/4 cup of heavy cream or prepared Alfredo sauce before adding the cheese.
-
Use shell or rotini pasta if preferred.
- Add diced pickles or onions for extra cheeseburger flavor.
