Description

 

A flavorful and spicy African-inspired soup made with tender meat, bell peppers, scotch bonnet peppers, and aromatic seasonings. Perfect for a warm, hearty meal on a cool day!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb meat, cut into cubes
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced
  • 3 scotch bonnet peppers, chopped
  • 2 tbsp ground crayfish
  • 1 tbsp dried fish
  • 1 tsp ground cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 6 cups water
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  • In a large pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
  • Add onions and sauté until translucent.
  • Stir in meat cubes and brown on all sides.
  • Add water, bell peppers, scotch bonnet peppers, ground crayfish, dried fish, cayenne pepper, and salt. Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes, or until meat is tender.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra heat, you can add more scotch bonnet peppers or cayenne pepper to taste.
  • The dried fish adds a unique flavor, but it can be substituted with other dried seafood if preferred.
