Description

Millionaire’s Shortbread is a rich, indulgent dessert with a buttery shortbread crust, a smooth and creamy caramel layer, and a luscious milk chocolate topping. This classic treat is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, cream together the butter and sugar.
  • Mix in the flour until well blended.
  • Press the dough into the bottom of a 9-inch square baking pan.
  • Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until lightly golden.
  • In a saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk and chocolate chips.
  • Stir over low heat until smooth and the chocolate has melted.
  • Spread the chocolate mixture over the baked shortbread crust.
  • Allow the shortbread to cool to room temperature before cutting it into squares.

Notes

  • For a firmer topping, let the shortbread cool completely and chill it in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before cutting.
  • You can add a pinch of salt to the caramel layer for a salted caramel twist.
