Description

Enjoy homemade bread without turning on the oven! This easy No-Oven Stovetop Bread is soft, fluffy, and perfect for sandwiches or enjoying with your favorite spread.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a separate bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Divide the dough into 2 equal pieces. Heat a large skillet over medium-low heat.
  • Place one dough ball into the skillet, flattening slightly. Cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, covering the skillet to retain steam, until golden brown.
  • Repeat with the second dough ball. Allow the bread to cool before slicing.

Notes

Make sure to cover the skillet while cooking to keep the bread moist.
