Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package prepared puff pastry (usually 2 sheets)
- ¾ cup Nutella hazelnut spread
- 2 eggs (1 for egg wash, 1 for filling)
- 3 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Unroll the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and cut each sheet into 4 squares.
- Place a spoonful of Nutella (about 1-2 tablespoons) in the center of each pastry square.
- Lightly beat one egg and brush the edges of each pastry square with the egg wash.
- Fold the squares diagonally into triangles or fold into rectangles, pressing the edges to seal.
- Place the pastries onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Beat the second egg and brush the tops of the pastries with the egg wash for a golden, glossy finish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastries are puffed and golden brown.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before dusting with powdered sugar.
- Serve warm or at room temperature and enjoy!
Notes
- You can also add chopped hazelnuts or a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for extra flavor.
- For a different flavor, try substituting Nutella with another spread like peanut butter or chocolate ganache.
- These puff pastries can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container for a couple of days.
