Description

This Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan is a healthier take on the classic, with crispy breaded chicken topped with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella. It’s simple, delicious, and ready in just 40 minutes!


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Dip each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, coating both sides.
  • Place the coated chicken breasts in a baking dish.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the baking dish from the oven and top each chicken breast with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  • Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

For added flavor, you can sprinkle some fresh basil over the top before serving. This dish pairs well with pasta, a side salad, or roasted vegetables.
