- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a shallow dish, combine breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each chicken breast in the breadcrumb mixture, coating both sides.
- Place the coated chicken breasts in a baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Remove the baking dish from the oven and top each chicken breast with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
- Return the baking dish to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For added flavor, you can sprinkle some fresh basil over the top before serving. This dish pairs well with pasta, a side salad, or roasted vegetables.
