Ingredients
Scale
- 1–2 packages Carando Abruzzese Fresh Italian Meatballs (adjust based on sandwich size)
- 4–6 hoagie rolls
- 4–6 slices provolone cheese
- 12 oz marinara sauce
- 6 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Parmesan cheese & parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Line a large baking sheet with foil and place the meatballs about 1 inch apart. Bake for 15 minutes. Flip the meatballs and bake for another 14-17 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 185°F (85°C).
- Lightly grease a casserole dish with cooking spray. Place the hoagie rolls in the dish and line each with a slice of provolone cheese.
- Place cooked meatballs inside the rolls. Spoon marinara sauce over the meatballs and top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake the assembled sandwiches for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
- Broil for 2-5 minutes for a golden finish, if desired.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and parsley before serving.
Notes
- Air Fryer Option: To make these in an air fryer, cook the meatballs at 390°F for 15 minutes. Then assemble the sandwiches and air fry for another 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.
- Feel free to use any type of Italian meatballs you like, or even homemade meatballs.
- Add red pepper flakes to the marinara sauce if you want to spice it up.
