- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- French bread, sliced and cut into cubes
- 5 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup over medium heat. Stir until smooth and pour into a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Arrange the bread cubes over the sugar mixture in the baking dish.
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, vanilla extract, and salt. Pour evenly over the bread cubes.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the French toast uncovered for 40 minutes.
