- 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Cooked rice (for serving)
Instructions
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the sliced flank steak and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add a little more oil if needed and stir-fry the bell peppers, onion, garlic, and ginger for 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
- Return the steak to the skillet. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Stir to combine and heat through.
- Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened and coated the steak and vegetables.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Garnish with sliced green onions.
- Serve over cooked rice and enjoy!
Notes
For extra spice, add a dash of red pepper flakes or a splash of Sriracha. This stir fry pairs perfectly with steamed rice or noodles!
