- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ¾ cup warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, and salt.
- If using, add the sugar to the warm water and let it sit for a few minutes until dissolved.
- Gradually add the warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Form the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly greased bowl. Cover with a damp cloth or plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air.
- Divide the dough into two equal portions if making two pizzas.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness, then transfer it to a pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Top with your favorite sauce and toppings.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 475°F (245°C) for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.
Notes
- If you prefer a crispier crust, roll the dough thinner before baking.
- You can make the dough ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Let it come to room temperature before rolling out.
