- 1 onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 8 slices provolone cheese
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat.
- Add the onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are tender.
- Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Toast the hoagie rolls and divide the meat mixture among them.
- Top each sandwich with 2 slices of provolone cheese and broil until melted.
