Description

A delicious twist on the classic Sloppy Joe, these Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes combine savory ground beef with tender vegetables, savory sauce, and melted provolone cheese—all piled high on a toasted hoagie roll. Perfect for a quick and hearty dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat.
  • Add the onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are tender.
  • Stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Simmer for 5-10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Toast the hoagie rolls and divide the meat mixture among them.
  • Top each sandwich with 2 slices of provolone cheese and broil until melted.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • For an extra creamy texture, you can add a tablespoon of mayonnaise or cream cheese to the meat mixture.
  • You can substitute the provolone cheese with Swiss or mozzarella for a different flavor.
  • This recipe works great for meal prepping; just store the filling separately and assemble the sandwiches when ready to serve.
