Ingredients

Scale

For the French Toast:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 8 slices of thick bread (preferred)

For the Homemade Pumpkin Syrup:

  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

Instructions

  • Prepare the French Toast Mixture:
    • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves until well combined.
  • Cook the French Toast:
    • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt a tablespoon of butter.
    • Dip each slice of bread into the pumpkin mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated.
    • Cook the bread in the skillet until golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes per side. Add more butter to the skillet as needed.

    • In a small saucepan, combine the maple syrup, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
    • Heat over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, until the syrup is warm and well blended.

    • Serve the Pumpkin Pie French Toast warm, drizzled with the homemade pumpkin syrup.
    • Optionally, top with a dusting of powdered sugar or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
