Description

This vibrant Salami-Mozzarella Tortellini Pasta Salad is a perfect mix of savory salami, creamy mozzarella, and fresh vegetables tossed in Italian dressing. It’s an easy-to-make, flavorful dish that can be served as a side or light main course, ideal for potlucks, picnics, or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Salad:

  • 12 oz (340 g) cheese tortellini, cooked and cooled
  • 1 cup salami, diced (or turkey pepperoni as a substitute)
  • 1 cup mozzarella pearls
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ½ cup black olives, sliced
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • ½ cup Italian dressing
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Cook Tortellini: Prepare the tortellini according to the package instructions. Drain, rinse with cold water, and set aside to cool completely.
  • Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked tortellini, diced salami, mozzarella pearls, cherry tomatoes, black olives, red onion, and basil.
  • Dress the Salad: Pour the Italian dressing over the mixture. Add dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Toss gently until all ingredients are evenly coated.
  • Chill and Serve: Cover the salad and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute the salami with turkey pepperoni for a lighter version.
  • For extra flavor, add some grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
  • The salad is best served chilled but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
