Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Cooked white rice for serving

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl, toss the sliced steak with soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and cornstarch. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated steak in batches and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • In the same pan, add the garlic, ginger, bell peppers, and onion. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
  • Return the steak to the pan, add beef broth, and stir to combine. Let the sauce thicken for 1-2 minutes. Drizzle with sesame oil and season with black pepper.
  • Serve hot over cooked white rice.

Notes

  • For added heat, consider adding sliced chili peppers or a dash of chili sauce.
  • Serve with a side of steamed vegetables for extra nutrition.
