Description
This incredibly easy slow cooker ham requires only five ingredients, yet delivers a sweet and tangy flavor that’s perfect for holidays or a simple weeknight meal. The brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar create a delicious glaze that infuses the ham as it slowly cooks to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (5-pound) bone-in ham
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup Dijon mustard
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Place the ham in the slow cooker, fat side up.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar.
- Pour the mixture over the ham, ensuring it’s evenly covered.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or until the ham is tender and heated through.
- Baste the ham with the cooking juices every hour to keep it moist and flavorful.
- Once done, remove from the slow cooker, slice, and serve. Enjoy!
Notes
- You can use a boneless ham if preferred, but bone-in will provide more flavor.
- This recipe works well with ham steaks too; just adjust the cooking time.
- For extra flavor, you can add whole cloves to the ham before cooking or a pinch of cinnamon to the glaze.
- If you’d like a thicker glaze, remove the ham towards the end of cooking, and simmer the juices in a saucepan until reduced.
