Description

A creamy, smoky pasta dish that combines tender smoked sausage with rich cream cheese sauce, flavored with garlic and Italian herbs. Quick to make and perfect for a comforting weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces uncooked pasta

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced (see notes)

  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (block), softened

  • 1/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

  • 1/2 cup corn (canned or cooked, cut off the cob)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add smoked sausage and cook until browned.

  • Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until onion is translucent and fragrant.

  • Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer.

  • Stir in softened cream cheese until melted and smooth.

  • Add Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes (if using), and corn. Stir well to combine.

  • Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.

  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.

  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Smoked sausage can be kielbasa, andouille, or any preferred smoked sausage.

  • Using softened cream cheese helps it melt smoothly into the sauce.

  • For added texture, you can garnish with fresh parsley or grated Parmesan.
