Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ribeye or sirloin steak
- 4 slices of thick-cut bread (like sourdough or French bread)
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or provolone cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Season the steak with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare. Remove from heat, let it rest for 5 minutes, then slice thinly.
- In a bowl, mix the softened butter, minced garlic, garlic powder, parsley, and red pepper flakes if using. Spread this garlic butter evenly over each slice of bread.
- Toast the garlic buttered bread in the oven for 8-10 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Top each slice of garlic toast with steak slices and sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
- Return to the oven for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider marinating the steak before cooking.
