Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken Wings:
- 2 lbs chicken wings, tips removed and separated into flats and drumettes
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
For the Sticky Garlic Sauce:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (for thickening)
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Wings:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Toss the chicken wings with vegetable oil, salt, and pepper. Arrange them in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the Wings:
- Bake the wings for 40-45 minutes, turning halfway through, until they are crispy and golden brown.
- Make the Sticky Garlic Sauce:
- While the wings are baking, combine the soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and rice vinegar in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Stir in the cornstarch mixture and continue cooking until the sauce is thick and glossy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Toss and Serve:
- Remove the wings from the oven and transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the sticky garlic sauce over the wings and toss to coat thoroughly.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For extra crispy wings, bake them on a wire rack placed over the baking sheet. Adjust the sweetness of the sauce by varying the amount of honey and brown sugar to your preference.
