Stuffed cabbage rolls are a hearty and comforting dish made with tender cabbage leaves filled with a savory mixture of ground beef, rice, and spices, topped with a flavorful tomato sauce. A perfect dish for a family dinner!


Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Boil cabbage in a large pot of water for 5 minutes, then remove and let cool.
  • In a bowl, mix together ground beef, cooked rice, onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  • Peel off cabbage leaves and place a spoonful of the meat mixture in each leaf.
  • Roll up the cabbage leaves and place in a baking dish.
  • Mix together tomato sauce and diced tomatoes, then pour over cabbage rolls.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.
  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version of this dish.
  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the tomato sauce for a bit of heat.
  • If you have leftover filling, it can be served on the side as a dish on its own.
