Description

Sweet and spicy chicken wings offer the perfect balance of sticky sweetness and just the right amount of heat. This recipe combines honey, hot sauce, and brown sugar into a mouthwatering glaze that coats each wing beautifully. Whether you’re hosting a party or simply craving a delicious snack, these wings are quick to prepare and full of flavor. They’re crispy without deep frying, and customizable to suit your heat tolerance, making them a crowd-pleaser for all.

Ingredients

  • Chicken wings
  • Olive oil or cooking spray
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Paprika
  • Honey
  • Hot sauce or chili sauce
  • Soy sauce
  • Brown sugar
  • Apple cider vinegar (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Season them with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and olive oil or cooking spray.
  • Preheat the Air Fryer or Oven: Preheat to 400°F (200°C).
  • Air Fry or Bake the Wings: Place the seasoned wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket or on a baking sheet. Cook for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure even crispiness.
  • Make the Sweet and Spicy Sauce: In a saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Stir over medium heat until the sauce thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Optionally, add apple cider vinegar for extra acidity.
  • Coat the Wings in Sauce: Toss the cooked wings in the sauce until fully coated or drizzle over them.
  • Serve: Serve the wings immediately, garnished with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Dry the wings thoroughly before seasoning for crispier results.
  • Adjust the heat level by modifying the amount of hot sauce or chili sauce.
  • Double the sauce for extra coverage if preferred.
