Description

Enjoy tender, flavorful meatballs simmered in a rich mushroom gravy that brings comfort food to a whole new level. Perfect served over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, salt, and pepper. Form into meatballs.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the meatballs on all sides, then remove and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté mushrooms until tender. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir well.
  • Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, cooking until the gravy thickens.
  • Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer for 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or egg noodles, your choice.

Notes

For added flavor, you can sauté the onions along with the mushrooms.
