Description

Tiramisu Cups are a no-bake, elegant dessert featuring layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and rich mascarpone cream served in individual cups. This easy recipe combines classic espresso and mascarpone flavors in a creamy, luscious treat perfect for entertaining or a special occasion.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • Mascarpone cheese – 8 oz (225g)
  • Espresso or strong coffee – 1 cup, cooled
  • Ladyfinger cookies – 20 pieces
  • Heavy cream – 1 cup (240ml)
  • Sugar – 1/2 cup (100g)
  • Cocoa powder – for dusting
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon
  • Optional liqueur (Marsala or coffee liqueur) – 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Coffee Soak: Brew a strong espresso or coffee and let it cool completely. If desired, mix in optional Marsala or coffee liqueur to enhance the flavor. Set aside for soaking ladyfingers.
  2. Whip the Mascarpone Mixture: In a chilled bowl, beat mascarpone cheese with sugar and vanilla extract until smooth. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form, then gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture to maintain a light and fluffy texture.
  3. Dip Ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring not to soak them too long to avoid sogginess. Place a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom of each serving cup.
  4. Assemble the Layers: Begin with the coffee-soaked ladyfingers, then add a generous spoonful of mascarpone cream on top. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and finish with the remaining cream.
  5. Chill and Garnish: Refrigerate the tiramisu cups for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld and textures to set. Before serving, dust generously with cocoa powder and optionally add chocolate shavings for garnish.

Notes

  • Use cold mascarpone and heavy cream for best whipped texture.
  • Quickly dip ladyfingers to prevent sogginess while still infusing coffee flavor.
  • Smooth each cream layer carefully for clean, appealing presentation.
  • Chill for at least 4 hours to allow flavors to meld and texture to firm up.
  • Dust with cocoa powder just before serving for classic aroma and finish.
