The honey mustard adds a tangy kick that ties everything together.
Ingredients
-
4 slices sourdough bread (or thick, crusty bread of choice)
-
2 tablespoons honey mustard
-
2 slices white cheddar cheese
-
4 slices deli turkey
-
Thin tomato slices from 1 medium red tomato
-
½ cup fresh baby spinach
-
4 strips cooked bacon
-
2 tablespoons butter, softened
Instructions
-
Spread 1 tablespoon of honey mustard on one side of each slice of bread.
-
Place one slice of cheddar cheese on top of the mustard on two of the bread slices.
-
Layer 2 slices of deli turkey, a few slices of tomato, a handful of fresh spinach, and 2 strips of bacon on top of the cheddar cheese.
-
Top each sandwich with the remaining slice of bread, mustard side down.
-
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter in it.
-
Once the skillet is hot, place the sandwiches in the pan and grill until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
-
Remove from the pan, slice in half, and serve hot.
Notes
-
You can substitute the sourdough with any bread you prefer, like ciabatta or whole wheat for a different flavor.
-
Feel free to add more cheese or extra bacon for a heartier version.
-
If you don’t have honey mustard, you can use regular mustard and a drizzle of honey.
- For a vegetarian version, simply leave out the turkey and bacon.
