Description

These Turtle Magic Bars are a decadent treat that combines rich layers of graham cracker crust, gooey caramel, semi-sweet chocolate chips, crunchy pecans, and sweet coconut. Finished with a sprinkle of sea salt for a perfect sweet-salty combination, these bars are ideal for holidays, parties, or any sweet craving.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut (optional)
  • 1 cup caramel bits or soft caramels (melted)
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • Sea salt (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper or spray it with non-stick spray.
  • Make the Crust:
In a bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter until it resembles wet sand. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the baking dish to form the crust.
  • Layer the Magic:
Sprinkle the chocolate chips, chopped pecans, and shredded coconut evenly over the crust. Drizzle the melted caramel over the top, making sure to cover as much as possible.
  • Add the Sweetened Condensed Milk:
Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the entire mixture. Use a spatula to spread it around, ensuring full coverage.
  • Bake:
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and bubbling.
  • Cool & Cut:
Let the bars cool completely to allow them to set. For best results, chill them in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before slicing.
  • Garnish & Serve:
Sprinkle a touch of sea salt on top for that sweet-salty magic. Cut into squares or bars, and enjoy the gooey, crunchy, chocolatey turtle goodness!

Notes

  • For a richer flavor: Use dark chocolate chips or a combination of semi-sweet and dark chocolate for added depth.
  • Optional Toppings: You can top the bars with extra caramel bits or drizzle more caramel on top for added sweetness.
  • Storage: These bars keep well in an airtight container for up to a week or can be frozen for up to a month.
