Description
This White Pizza features a combination of creamy ricotta, gooey mozzarella, and sharp Parmesan, all balanced by the aromatic flavors of garlic and fresh basil. A perfect option for those who prefer a cheesy, flavorful pizza without the tomato sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- ¼ cup yellow cornmeal
- 1 pound pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
- 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, finely grated
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 6 ounces fresh mozzarella, torn into small pieces
- ½ cup ricotta cheese
- ⅓ cup freshly grated Parmesan
- Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.
- Sprinkle the cornmeal onto a pizza peel or counter surface. Roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle, then transfer it to the prepared pizza peel or a piece of parchment paper.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the pizza dough, using a brush or spoon to spread it evenly across the surface.
- Sprinkle the finely grated garlic evenly over the dough, followed by the crushed red pepper flakes, kosher salt, and freshly ground black pepper.
- Scatter the torn mozzarella and ricotta cheese over the pizza, followed by the freshly grated Parmesan.
- Carefully slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet in the oven. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling and slightly browned.
- Once out of the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, then slice and serve.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can drizzle a little more olive oil on the pizza just before serving.
- If you prefer a crispier crust, you can bake the pizza a few extra minutes or use a pizza stone for optimal results.
- Feel free to add additional toppings such as sautéed mushrooms or spinach to customize your pizza.
