Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe but firm bananas, peeled and sliced into thin rounds (about ⅛-inch thick)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil or melted butter
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar (or coconut sugar)
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Prepare the Bananas:
- Peel and slice the bananas into thin rounds, about ⅛-inch thick. Make sure the slices are uniform in size to ensure even cooking.
- Coat the Bananas:
- In a small bowl, mix the coconut oil (or melted butter) with the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon until well combined.
- Gently toss the banana slices in the cinnamon-sugar mixture, ensuring each slice is evenly coated.
- Air Fry the Banana Chips:
- Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Arrange the banana slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. If needed, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping the banana slices halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning.
- Cool and Serve:
- Once done, remove the banana chips from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack. They will crisp up more as they cool.
- Enjoy:
- Serve the banana chips immediately, or store them in an airtight container for later.
Notes
- For a variation, you can add a pinch of sea salt or a drizzle of honey for extra flavor.
- Make sure the bananas are firm to prevent them from becoming too mushy during cooking.
