Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
For the Sauce:
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened and cubed
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
Optional Garnish:
- Chopped fresh parsley or basil
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts on both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C). Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Add the heavy cream, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spooning some sauce over the top. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes to heat the chicken through and allow the flavors to meld.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or basil before serving.
Notes
- You can adjust the seasoning to your taste, especially if you prefer more heat with the red pepper flakes.
- If the sauce is too thick, you can thin it out with a little more chicken broth or milk.
- Serve with pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
