Description

Creamy and savory, this Cream Cheese Chicken is the perfect comfort food. Boneless chicken breasts are seared and then coated in a rich, velvety sauce made from cream cheese, garlic, and Parmesan. It’s a quick, easy, and flavorful dish that’s sure to please any crowd.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

For the Sauce:

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened and cubed
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Optional Garnish:

  • Chopped fresh parsley or basil

Instructions

  • Season the chicken breasts on both sides with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C). Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
  • Add the heavy cream, cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  • Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spooning some sauce over the top. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes to heat the chicken through and allow the flavors to meld.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley or basil before serving.

Notes

  • You can adjust the seasoning to your taste, especially if you prefer more heat with the red pepper flakes.
  • If the sauce is too thick, you can thin it out with a little more chicken broth or milk.
  • Serve with pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
