These Golden, Crispy Mozzarella Sticks are a perfect appetizer or snack, featuring gooey, melty cheese surrounded by a crunchy breadcrumb coating. Paired with marinara sauce for dipping, they are sure to be a crowd favorite.

- 1 (16 oz) package mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks
- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- Marinara sauce, for dipping
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together eggs and milk.
- In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Dredge each mozzarella stick in flour, dip in the egg mixture, and then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze for at least 30 minutes to help them hold together during frying.
- Preheat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (180°C).
- Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels and serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.
Notes
- Freezing the mozzarella sticks is essential to prevent the cheese from melting too quickly during frying.
- If you prefer a baked version, bake the sticks in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
